Civic engagement plays an important role in shaping policies that affect individuals with disabilities and the systems that support them. Staying informed, communicating with elected officials, and participating in the legislative process helps ensure that decision-makers understand the real-world impact of policy choices.
Advocacy begins with engagement — contacting legislators, attending public meetings, and sharing lived experience all contribute to stronger, more responsive disability policy in Indiana.
